The Forbidden Yoga Pig - Homage to Rolling Stones’ “Sympathy for the Devil”
Welcome to this homage to the Rolling Stones’ “Sympathy for the Devil.” Recently, I’ve been working with a recurring character in my projects—the forbidden yoga pig. This pig appears in various significant historical and mythical moments. Picture it: the pig at the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, the pig with Einstein when he formulated E=MC², the pig lurking in the shadows of great events. For me, the pig symbolizes darkness and mystery, much like the motifs David Lynch plays with in his work. It represents the impurity that taints perceived purity, the forbidden element that disrupts the so-called sanctity. Growing up, the pig was always seen as impure in my family—we didn’t eat pork. The pig became a metaphor for everything dirty, everything that could spoil the clean. When JFK was assassinated, the pig was there. At the crucifixion of Jesus, the pig appeared. Is the pig the devil? I started pondering this, especially in the context of the Rolling Stones’ song, which explores the presence of evil throughout history. The pig, in my art, is a witness to humanity’s darkest and brightest moments, a symbol of the perpetual shadow lurking in our midst. I’ve been creating AI-generated images of the pig in these various contexts—holy yoga gatherings, scandals, moments of profound light and deep darkness. The pig is there, like an extraterrestrial observer, always present, always watching from the corners of history and myth. Using AI, I’ve animated these scenarios, setting them to the soundtrack of “Sympathy for the Devil.” It’s a surreal, captivating project that juxtaposes the sacred and the profane, the light and the shadow. The pig, in its silent, enigmatic presence, becomes a powerful symbol of the complexities of existence. I’m uploading this film to YouTube, and I hope it doesn’t get taken down. This pig has become more than just a symbol; it’s a lens through which to view the tangled web of purity and impurity, light and darkness in our world. So here it is, a tribute to the forbidden yoga pig, with a nod to the Rolling Stones and the eternal dance between good and evil. Enjoy this journey through history and myth, as seen through the eyes of the ever-present, ever-mysterious pig. #rollingstones #sympathyforthedevil
